ABOUT THE SHIRE HUTS

The Shire Huts provide glamping pods handcrafted in the heart of the Cornish countryside using ‘waney’ timber (planks which feature the original curve and bark of the tree). They are made by local joiner, Ali Mikail at his secret workshop deep in ancient Cornwall, and constructed from scratch following Ali’s own design. The artwork, by Paul Fullman, includes stained glass windows. Each hut is unique, with names like Beeble, Whistler, Butternut.

WHAT ACCOMMODATION DO THEY PROVIDE?

The Shirt Huts  provide a cosy two-berth pod which can be made into either a double or two singles. Every bed comes with a comfy foam mattress, cover and cushions. There’s also a rug and doormat with each hut, two plug sockets (for charging phones only) in the bedside table, as well as a lamp. Heating is also provided to keep everyone warm and toasty.

The huts have four coat hooks and a stand for two sets of wellies – perfect for festivalgoers.

All doors are lockable with your own set of keys, along with chairs and fire pit to share with the rest of the shire hut dwellers.

A new addition is the four-berth huts. Perfect for families or larger groups, they are twice the size of the standard huts (and come with your choice of single and double beds). The cabins also house the same features and home comforts as the standard, two-berth, size, except they have two electric boxes and an extra stained glass window.

WHICH FESTIVALS AND EVENTS ARE THEY GOING TO?

The Shire Huts can be seen at a host of festivals and events across the West Country.
